The Receiving Room.
(More playing around with public domain images. I originally made this for myself, to cover up boring school papers on my cork board, but now it’s my favorite and so i’ll be adding it to the shop soon.)
still ending and beginning still 2 on Flickr.
I know, i know, i already posted these. I had to re-edit them though, and this set more closely resembles what they look like in person. You can see my other post [here] for more info on these.
[p.s. new post on the blog [here] “process in progress”]
altered you don’t sing to me anymore print on Flickr.
This is one of my altered test prints for the limited edition of ‘you don’t sing to me anymore’. It was a no go because of it being a little bit darker than it should have been. 12x18 image on 14x20 somerset velvet paper [printed by a print
shop, not on my inkjet.] I added water color to the cicada [veins in the wings and then the obvious drippy bits] a little green to the eyes, and then played up the speckling in the lips with more pink. The watercolors didn’t alter the ink in the print at all. There is a little denting in the white border, but that won’t be seen if you mat it. [Please excuse the warping, i had to prop it up in a chair to take a picture real quick.] I have a price in mind, but feel free to make an offer.
finally making some progress on the mixed media piece. all the parts were shot yesterday, so now it’s a matter of creating the “digital” version, and editing half of the final “real life” version, then eventually printing that part and putting it together. Hopefully i don’t start slacking [or it gets too difficult] and i take another 6+ months to get this completely done.
